There are plenty of taxis waiting just outside the airports, or if you prefer, you can book transfer in advance and pay upon arrival to Navigare Yachting base. If you are more than four persons and want one big taxi, an advance booking will be needed. A booking can be made at the latest 5 days prior departure.

Provisioning

The restaurant Gåshaga Sealodge is situated 10 m from our sailboats and  you as Navigare Yachting customers of course receive a discount.  There are  supermarkets, bakeries and liquor shops at Lidingö centre. It runs a tram to the  centre every 10 minutes and it is a 15 minutes trip. To the nearest supermarket it is only two stops away on the tram.

Meeting Point/Office

Navigare Yachting harbour office is located in Gåshaga Sealodge. The address is Värdshusvägen 14-16, Lidingö.

Hazards

Beware of the shallow areas around the islands and skerries. Also note that the whole archipelago demands serious attention on the sea charts and sharp look out. Please note that the main inlet to Stockholm has heavy traffic of cargo ships and ferries.

The Weather

Most of the time the prevailing wind is SW - NW 1-4 Beaufort during summer, but as a low pressure enters the area you may get rain and sometimes more wind and the direction will vary. Note that in spring and summertime you have very light evenings as the sun sets very late.

The Stockholm archipelago has no tidal change!

Facilities

Water and electricity are available on the dock. You need to fill fuel on one of the islands when you come back. The best located are Waxholm or Saltsjöbaden located approximately one hour from the base.

Two quality restaurants and one café are located within the marina.

If you like to have a business meeting, we have very nice conference rooms with a fantastic sea view!

Moorings

Navigare Yachting berths are situated in our own marina where you will moor alongside jetties. As you depart you will be advised where you will return.

Sightseeing

The city centre of Stockholm is well worth visiting!

There are many museums including the famous “Wasa ship museum”. The “Old town” of Stockholm. A big amusement park “Gröna Lund”, restaurants, stadiums, parks, etc.  See:  www.visitstockholm.com

Sail with a skipper

Having your own skipper on board adds value even if you are an experienced sailor and especially when exploring unknown waters.
